Our program will help her financially so she can start using the Omnipod 5. She hopes to see a dramatic improvement in her blood sugar control.
I am a 71-year-old retired school employee who was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes at the age of 9.
My husband and I are living on a fixed income. I do not qualify for Medicaid. Medicare Part D still leaves me with a significant co-pay. I have a supplemental prescription plan, but it does not cover the expense of the Omnipod 5 Insulin Pump. My expenses for basic needs leave very little for medication & insulin costs.
My Endocrinologist, Dr. Samantha Hudson, has prescribed the Omnipod 5 to manage my diabetes and blood sugars better. The Omnipod 5 has been remarkably effective in stabilizing my diabetes condition, but unfortunately, the monthly cost of $584.00 has become financially straining for me. This is in addition to the cost of Insulin, which is now $105 a month.
The Do Right’s Grant Assistance Program would allow me to make a life-changing difference. I was so excited to start using the Omnipod 5, and I have seen a dramatic improvement in my blood sugar control. Dr. Hudson has been able to reduce the insulin dosage with the Omnipod 5 Insulin Pump, and I am currently working with a weight-loss doctor to further reduce the daily insulin dose.
I was also diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure and Pulmonary Hypertension approximately two (2) years ago, which was difficult for me to accept.
Your program will help me financially, and I thank you for considering my application for your Grant Assistance Program.
